Turn your quilt’s negative space into positively fabulous designs! Angela shows how to compliment pieced sections with motifs and texture. Advance your skills with the guidance of Angela Walters, an experienced quilting instructor and author of Free Motion Quilting with Angela Walters. Go from sketching simple patterns to sewing complex designs, turning your previously plain palettes into wonderful works of art. Learn to break up negative space with a variety of motifs. Play with pebbles and paisleys, twirl with circles and swirls, and travel through a garden of stitched leaves, as you incorporate different design elements to produce subtle and sumptuous surfaces. In this class, you will learn how to take your favorite classic designs and give them a “make-over”. This fast-paced class will tackle swirls, pebbles, squares, clamshells and more! You will leave with a whole new arsenal of quilting designs to use on your favorite quilts.

Deciding on quilting designs for your quilt borders and backgrounds doesn’t need to be stressful or overwhelming. This informative class will show you several different designs to use in your background and borders. Angela will also show you easy ways to tackle those borders and how to tweak the designs to create different effects. From Wavy Lines, creating intresting texture, to interesting feather fillers, you will leave with plenty ideas. Bring your questions and a go-for-it attitude!

Even though I love feathers (and I mean, I really love feathers!!), sometimes a quilt just needs something different. This class will show you several different options to use in place of feathers, including Swirls, Scrolls, Faux Rope designs and more. You will also learn how to use these fun and easy designs in several different ways. When the class in finished, no quilt will be safe! You will be ready to tackle borders, negative space, and blocks using these desings just like you would use feathers quilting designs.

In this class, you will learn how to combine straight lines with free-motion quilting designs to create designs that require little to no marking. We will tackle blocks, borders and negative space during this class so bring your longarm ruler and all your questions. Leave the class with the ability to quilt several different designs and encouragement to add your own flair!
