One of the funnest things about going to Quilt Market is to see all the new products being released. It’s even more fun when a new product is a book that I am a part of. That is exactly the case for “Optical Illusions”
This joint collaboration includes quilt patterns that have an optical twist! The designers came up with fun patterns that are easy and visually stunning!
Aura, designed by Jamie David graces the cover and may be my favorite quilt in the book!
Or this close up of Jessica Toye’s quilt, Water Ripples could be my favorite…..who am I kidding, I can’t pick a favorite!!
What about my quilt? There’s a good reason that you can’t see a quilt that I designed……I didn’t do one. Because machine quilting is my strength, (The math required for pattern writing makes my head ache) the editors at My Stars let me write a chapter full of machine quilting tips. Including:
- Picking the right color of thread, so that the quilting doesn’t take away from the illusion.
- Using the quilt pattern to inspire your quilting designs.
- How to embrace the unexpected and use designs in different ways.
Also, to celebrate the release of the book, My Stars is giving away a bundle of Athena fabric on their website. Click here and leave a comment on the post, one lucky winner will be picked on Sunday!!
Also, I will back soon to tell you more about this quilt by the fabulous Tula Pink:
