Almost a year ago, I took one of the biggest steps in my quilting career by hiring my first employees, Jessica and Ruth. They are the main reason that anything, besides quilting, gets done around here. They are ultra-capable and ultra-professional, I just love having them around.
I have decided that it is my mission in life to turn them into quilters…..I mean, it only makes sense! But instead of overwhelming them with a quilt, I talked them into making some blankets using Cuddle by Shannon Fabrics. My hope is that it’s the first step to enticing them to become quilters!
For her blanket, Jessica picked a super cute shaggy Cuddle fabric and finished it by doing a pillowcase turn.
I really wanted to quilt it for her, but she just loved the furry look of it!
Ruth picked a cute Cuddle Quarter kit to make a blanket for her son.
Even though she could have finished it the same way as Jessica’s blanket, I really wanted quilt it….there is just something about running your hands over the softness of quilted Cuddle.
In the past, I have blogged about machine quilting different fabrics such as Voile and Fleece. So when Shannon Fabrics asked me to share some tips about machine quilting their Cuddle fabric, I readily agreed!
Check out my guest post on their blog for machine quilting tips and pictures.
While you’re there, make sure to leave a comment on their blog (or come back and leave a comment on this post) for a chance to win your own bundle of Cuddle fabrics.
Just think, one lucky could be snuggling under your own Cuddle quilt!!
Speaking of lucky winners, I owe one lucky winner some fabric from my newest fabric collection, Legacy. That lucky winner is:
In the meantime, Happy Quilting!!
