Quilting Pinwheel Quilt Blocks
It’s windy and rainy here in KC, but I am thinking ahead to spring, sunshine and pinwheels. Probably because today’s quilt is an adorable pinwheel quilt that Barbara made using this pattern from SewMamaSew.
She made this quilt for a special little girl and I thought frilly, swirly quilting was just the way to go!
Inside the pinwheels, I alternated between feathers and plume feathers. I could make up an artistic reason that sounds fairly valid…..like “the contrast between designs really highlights the blocks” or something like that…..but I just did it because it keeps me from getting bored……true story!
I actually used a pale pink thread for this quilt. I knew that it would blend nicely in the white fabric, but not be as stark as white thread on the red fabric. And as silly as it sounds, the day is just a little brighter when you are quilting with pink thread!
