Have I mentioned before that I think quilting should be fun?? Oh yeah, I have probably said it a million times! But as I put together today’s blog post, I am reminded of it again.
Here’s the deal, I am not the type of person to spend several weeks on end quilting a quilt. Not only is that boring, but I really find that I can’t pay attention to it that long. I have a whole, “good enough is good enough” approach to life…..(which I am sure drives my perfectionist friends crazy!). I think my quilting reflects that!
I quilted this quilt for Emily Cier awhile ago, but it still makes me smile. Everything about this quilt is fun….from the colors to the quilt pattern. It reminds me of the old Mario games….who knows why……It was all I could do to refrain from quilting a little Mario and a mushroom in it…..or maybe I did……(I didn’t really!)
The background quilting is only wavy lines that happen to touch….so easy and quick….yet interesting.
In the middle of the quilt, I quilted overlapping circles….
I’m not sure why, I didn’t have a specific reason. I probably just felt like doing it at the time. Sometimes I have a whole backstory of why I picked certain designs, but sometimes I just pick one because it sounds good!
And, of course, I switched up the designs in the blocks of the quilt….
Am I the only one that thinks they look like the hills on Mario Bros? I am soooo dating myself with that question!
So what do you say??? Obviously the machine quilting is my favorite part of making a quilt….what is your favorite part?
Happy FUN Quilting!!!!
