I think if there is anything I love more than quilting, it’s hanging out with a group of quilters. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of doing just that!
Me and 24 of my quilting friends hung out for my Machine Quilting the Modern Quilt class. I had so much fun, and really enjoyed this group.
They laughed at my silly jokes…..
They tried out some new designs……
They had a lot of fun……
But most important of all…..they followed my one and only rule. It’s a little one, but it can be so hard to follow. When I tell someone that they have done a great job (or that their quilting looks great) they can only reply with “Thank You”.
I had to implement this rule after I had taught a few classes. Every time I would tell a quilter that they did a great job, they would quickly point out a mistake or say something along the lines of, “well, I am sure it could look better.”
I think it should be a rule that extends across all of the quilting industry, even into life itself. If someone compliments you, don’t point out the flaws…..simply say “Thank You”!
I’m thinking that today’s class will do just as well! Happy Quilting!
A special thanks to Denny for the pictures!!
