Happy New Year! I hope that the holiday season was happy and bright for you! I feel like a slacker since I haven’t been blogging as much……maybe I will make my that my New Year’s resolution! Anyways, today’s quilt is Melody’s quilt.
As much as I say that I am not a huge fan of the color purple, I keep working on beautiful quilts like this. I may have to convert.
Melody made this quilt for her bed and I think it’s the perfect balance of color and negative space. Definitely right up my alley! She requested geometric quilting, which I think suits the quilt top perfectly.
I quilted rows of large concentric squares and filled in between them with straight vertical lines. I wanted the quilting to be interesting, but not overwhelming.
I really liked the quilt back that she made too, it just fits the quilt perfectly.
Another quilt that was so hard to give back! Oh well, it’s on to the next one.
