How about a fun, purple quilt? This is another one of Emily’s quilts. I am not normally a fan of the color purple, but I love the color combo in this quilt.
Quilting blocks made of unusual shapes used to drive me a little batty. But the more I relaxed and just had fun with it, the easier it got.
I try to pick designs that fit the shape, but I don’t stress out too much if it doesn’t fill it exactly.
And if I get stuck, I just echo the shape of the block.
When quilting this quilt, I tried something a little different in the borders. I quilted lines that were straight in some borders and curved in others.
In the rest of the borders, I quilted a few of my favorite designs.
And I love to have fun quilting larger borders…..
