I promised to show pictures of this quilt last week, but I had trouble finding the pictures that I had taken. I finally found them…..turns out, I have a lot of pictures of quilts in my computer!
The reason that I had to do a little digging to find them, is because I quilted this quilt several months ago. It’s a quilt that my friend, Alex, designed and made for the premier issue of Modern Quilts Unlimited magazine.
The quilting on this quilt is all about texture! I wanted the quilting to add different “looks” of texture in each part of the quilt.
I picked a few designs and used them in different directions, just to mix it up a bit.
Even though all the pieces are different sizes, they were all squares and rectangles….that always seems to make the quilting so a bit faster.
Since the main focus of the quilt is the piecing, I wanted to make sure that the background was interesting, but not overwhelming.
I love the color stories that Alex puts together…..
Such a great quilt! I think I may have to make one for myself!
And, of course, I owe someone a copy of Modern Designs for Classic Quilts….and that lucky person is Patty Simmons!
Patty, send me an email with your contact info and I will get it mailed out to you!
Happy Quilting!
