When Julie asked me to quilt the quilts in the book, of course I said yes! I was even more excited once I found out the idea behind the book; quilt patterns that were strong enough to stand along without borders.
This book is jammed packed with quilt patterns, I didn’t think that I was going to ever get them all finished!
One of my favorite quilts in the book is this one:
Julie doesn’t often give me a lot of solids spaces, so when they come along I love to take advantage of it! I quilted motifs in the solid white squares to really make them stand out.
Another fav quilt in the book:
I love quilting quilts made with repeating basic shapes. My favorite thing to do is to alternate between a few different designs to add a little bit of interest to the quilting.
Julie is know for her love of binding, which is evident in the book. She included a whole chapter on binding with different types of binding techniques and plenty of how-to pictures. As a part of the blog tour, she asked us what our favorite binding is, straight or bias.
That question has a basic assumption, that I even like to do binding…..which I don’t! It’s my least favorite part of the process, which is why I have my sister do it! How about you? Do you love binding or dread it like I do.
