Finally! I am so excited to share my exciting news, even though most of you already know
I have been so fortunate to team up with Craftsy to put together my first online class, Machine Quilting Negative Space.
There is so much to tell you, I don’t hardly know where to start!
In this class, I will share several techniques for quilting negative space. The class in divided into 10 lessons, starting with sketching and then moving into the actual quilting, with a lot of quilted examples and encouragement along the way! Even though I use a longarm quilting machine, these techniques can be applied to domestic sewing machines. If you hop on over to the class, you can even watch the previews, read the reviews and Craftsy has a money back guarantee!
I have said several times that it’s always best to practice your free-motion quilting on a quilt. Another option would be to use a pre-printed quilt panel. It’s a win-win! There is no piecing, but when you are finished you have a functional quilt instead of just practice pieces. Well, I have designed 3 modern quilt panels as an option for the class. They are available on Spoonflower.com and are perfect for practicing free-motion quilting, whether with the class or on your own. I will talk more about these tomorrow!
Taking a class on Craftsy is so interactive. I will be dropping in often to answer questions and facilitate conversations. You can also take notes and share photos of projects that you are working on.
And best of all, the class never expires!
So I know I have thrown a lot of information at you today. I can’t help it, I am so excited! I will be back tomorrow to tell you more about the modern quilt panels. On Saturday, I will share some behind the scenes pictures of the filming….I think you will find them amusing! And, of course, I will have some fun giveaways for you as well!!
And, don’t worry! If you are signed up take “Machine Quilting Negative Space” with me at an upcoming show, I will be discussing completely different techniques.
