Today’s quilt is from last year, but somehow in the hustle of life I forgot to blog about it. Seems to be a common occurrence! Better late than never, right?
This quilt, Spice Route, is one of the patterns in Lizzy House’s book, 1001 Peeps.
This was one of my favorite quilts in the book to work on……I had so much fun quilting it!
My absolute favorite part? The borders!
It’s kind of funny looking back at this quilt…I really loved the designs that I used but I haven’t used them again since. I guess I better use it on one of next quilts.
In the outer borders, I quilted diagonal lines to frame the edges of the quilt. I filled in the rest of the quilt with swirls!
You can’t tell in the picture, but I only quilted the diagonal lines on three sides of the quilt….I did something different in the bottom border (this is the back of the quilt):
Aren’t they the cutest little buildings you ever saw? I recreated the designs in the fabric, sometimes you don’t have to look further than the quilt top for inspiration! I had so much fun quilting them, but of course I am easily entertained.
And a final shot of the back of the quilt:
Thanks so much for stopping by, Happy Quilting!
