It’s the weekend, and you know what that means…..It’s time to party! It’s the Quilting Modern weekend celebration blog blast!
My favorite memory of the book will always be the time that I went to Jacquie’s house to meet Katie and to discuss the quilting for the quilts. It was an afternoon that I will always cherish. We were all tossing out ideas for the quilting and discussing what we thought would look great. It was a creative firestorm, each suggestion adding more and more inspiration. Holding this book, is kinda like holding a niece or a nephew…..it doesn’t belong to me, but I sure do love it like it’s my own!
I love, love, love the variety of projects in this book, there are so many different things to make. But the first three things on my to-make list are:
The Supernova Quilt
When they showed me this quilt, I was stunned! I knew that this would be the first quilt that I would make once the book came out. I love how it is improv piecing but with a plan.
I am going to remake this quilt because I love the quilting. At the time, with all the starts and stops, I wasn’t thrilled to be doing it. But the finished product was definitely worth it. It was really, really hard to give this one back to Jacquie. But I have definite plans to make this quilt for myself!
And, of course, Winter Windows is on the list. I love anything with a lot of negative space!!! I have the perfect shades of green picked out already!
And now, I raise my glass to Jacquie and Katie. Congratulations on a book that is truly a work of art, that clearly speaks to the modern quilting community! I wish you both all the best!!!
Check out the other partygoers and see what they are up to!!! This is one rocking party for sure!!!
